Folsom Forward is a simple concept that focuses on the pride we all feel being residents of Folsom, the sense of community we have in this amazing place, and the kindness that makes our village so special.

Years ago I lived in another small community, full of residents that were proud to call it home, and there was a symbol we all displayed on our cars or in windows of local businesses. It was a simple sticker with a seagull and the name of the small town. Putting one of these stickers in your window was a rite of passage and a tradition that is still alive and going strong 50 years after it first started.

Now that I have lived in Folsom for almost 10 years I see and feel a similar love and pride for our village, so I thought it would be a great project to start a similar tradition here.

After Hurricane Ida my wife and I were volunteering in front of Folsom's Town Hall passing out food and supplies. That experience really showed the sense of community we have here and highlighted how strong we are when we come together. While working there the lettering on the side of the building caught my attention. As a professional designer and creative director I'm always viewing the world around me through a visual lens. While the Town Hall lettering style may be dated it truly has character and I knew I wanted to do something for Folsom that incoporated that.

Since that time I've worked on a few concepts and then finally landed on a simple mark that really symbolizes Folsom. Using the heart symbol from the iconic "I ❤️ (city name)" I combined that with a horse to represent an important and integral part of Folsom along with the name of our village using the classic Town Hall lettering style. 

Now I want to share this with my neighbors, so we all can put Folsom Forward together! 

To get Folsom Forward started my wife and I have purchased an inital batch of Folsom stickers that we will make available through some local businesses for anyone that wants to put one on their car or business window. 

That’s us paying it Folsom Forward. If you would like to also pay it Folsom Forward, after you get your free sticker, you can buy a sticker for someone else down the road or buy some to hand out at your business. Contact us if you are interested.
